Recently, I’ve had the privilege of giving two talks at Python Toronto, diving into how we build and scale software.

Beyond Code Generation: Using AI for Team-Based Software Development (July 2026)

In July, I presented on the realities of AI in software engineering. We looked past the hype cycle to figure out what AI is actually good at, and why typing code was never the real bottleneck for engineering teams in the first place.

We explored the spectrum of contextual complexity, the danger of becoming a "Reverse Centaur", and how we can use AI to build throw-away artifacts (like interactive UI prototypes or visual architecture diagrams) that foster radical human collaboration.
